Tree Bark Bird Feeder

HOW TO BUILD A TREE BARK BIRD FEEDER

LIST OF MATERIALS:

1. Six (6) foot length of nylon cord.
(Options) rope, twine, clothes line or
    heavy test fishing line.

2. Two (2) pieces of bark.   (Size matters).

“Top Hat” upper piece of bark.

This will be larger in size to act as the rain protector for the lower bird seed tray.
Pre-drill 2 holes (center at each end).

“Bird feed tray”

This will be smaller in size piece of bark to hold the bird seed. Pre-drill 4 holes (two at each end)

ASSEMBLE THE BARK BIRD FEEDER:

Step-1: Follow Red arrows

Top Hat-----Pre-drill two holes the same size as the cord. Take each end of the 6 ft cord and feed down through the top hat at both ends.

Step-2: Follow Yellow arrows

Run cord through hole around underside of the feeder tray and through the other hole. This supports the lower tray when done.

Step-3: Follow Blue arrow

Pull through 9 inches of cord.

Step 4: Follow the Purple arrows

Tie together with other cord into a square knot. You should now have approximately a 5 to 6 inch loop.

Note: The knots will keep top hat from sliding down the cord. This allows at least a 5-6 inch separation of the two pieces of bark.

Step-5: Follow the White arrow

Using the excess cord at the top, tie a loop to hang the basket up with.

TESTIMONIALS:

What I like, it is environmentally friendly and blends into the surrounding elements.

Within 5 minutes of hanging bird feeder birds were checking it out.

So far, in one day two different species of birds were seen using the feeder.

It took me less then 10 minutes to make this feeder...
